Lovely 42 ha game farm in Dinokeng region
This lovely 42 ha lodge is just a 45 minute drive north east of Pretoria and close to the Dinokeng region. The property is part of a 650 hectare conservancy, in terms of which neighbouring land owners have taken down their fences and have allowed traversing rights. There is no legal binding document between land owners and the conservancy does not operate as a legal entity other than its registration with the Department of Nature Conservation. Each landowner holds the title deeds to their property, and most have signed a collaborative agreement that deals with collective functions such as sharing of joint project costs, maintenance of firebreaks, fences and shared roads. Owners are personally responsible for maintaining their property and surrounds.
Almost 200 types of birds have been seen and the conservancy is stocked with a variety of game including wildebeest, kudu, hartebeest, zebra, impala, giraffe, waterbuck, blesbok and nyala. Less commonly seen animals include civet, genet, jackal, porcupine and other nocturnal species. The game ownership is shared amongst some of the current landowners and ownership of this 42 ha share of game will be transferred to the buyer of the property.
The property would make a perfect residence for a family that wants to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Furthermore, the property could continue to be used as an operational lodge.
